There is only one
"Original" Little Richards BBQ and this Winston-Salem original is located on Country Club Road with a green (except
in the winter) Kudzu-covered hill behind it. Inside, you will find red and white checkered tablecloths, terrazzo floors and
walls covered with vintage tobacco and cola signs like; Camel, Winston, Salem, Prince Albert, Dixie Cola, Nichol Kola, Double
Cola and Royal Crown Cola. All of the cigarette signs came from a R.J. Reynolds warehouse. Little Richard's pit-cooks their
pork shoulders over a mix of hickory and oak. I had the sliced pork plate with fries, red slaw, baked beans, excellent lightly
fried hushpuppies and a bottomless cup of their perfectly sweetened ice tea with lemon. My sliced Q was truly outstanding,
and the pork was very juicy and cut-with-a-fork tender. My baked beans were superb with a perfect deep sweet taste. The red
slaw and the fries were both aces and the brown vinegar based dip complemented the pork nicely. Cash is king. Enjoy one of
North Carolina's best Q houses.
