If you are a Pittsburgh Steelers fan and you can't make it to the "Burgh" for the big game, this is the next best thing. Where else, except for Pittsburgh, can you drink an Iron City or Lionshead beer, snack on some Gibble's Chips or eat a Silver Star brand Heinz Field hotdog (the same dog you can buy @ Heinz Field) Wow! Plus you can sip on some Turner's Iced Tea, nosh on some Isaly's chipped ham barbecue, Polska sausage or Kielbasa sandwich or chow down on a perogie or a haluski. The perogie and haluski are only available on game day Sundays. All while watching your Steelers destroy the other team. The Iron City Hot Dog Shop has it all. The owner makes regular trips to Pittsburgh to restock. I had the combo with a Coke, Gibble's Chips, pickle and a Heinz Field dog (with casing). My dog, pickle, Gibble chips and stadium dog were all very good. I also got a regular skinless dog (Nathan's) that was also very good. Both dogs were topped with Heinz ketchup (when in Rome), mustard, chili, cheese, onions and red pepper relish. The free toppings were great and it was nice to see what the local Pittsburgh favorite toppings were like; kraut and horseradish mustard, banana peppers and my new favorite topping the red pepper relish. All of the hotdogs are 100% beef, the dogs are grilled and the buns are steamed. And don't fret if you're not a Steelers fan because this place is all about their great food, plus football and just having a great time (especially on game day Sundays). Enjoy!
