Located just north of Ogden Utah and about ten miles or so east of the Great Salt Lake is Perry Utah. Perry is the home of the Maddox family drive-in. The Maddox only serves grain-fed beef. They use over 4000 head of choice beef annually. The signs under the large covered tramway will remind you of these facts. The Maddox is a true drive-in; just turn on your lights for service and the girls will come to your car to take your order. Menu boards hang from the top of the tramway above or near every parking spot. You can eat from the tray that hangs on your window, or you can sit at an outside table near your car. I ordered a cheeseburger with fries and a fresh lime. The fresh lime was good, but it was not as sweet as I would have liked. My cheeseburger was excellent! It was topped with relish, onions, mustard and sweet pickles. My fries were also excellent. The special dipping sauce for the fries was a nice change. The special dipping sauce for the fries is served throughout the state, and is unique to Utah. The Maddox also makes homemade ice cream and home-brewed root beer. I did not get to sample the root beer, but I did get a milkshake. My vanilla milkshake was excellent!!! The Maddox also has an incredible revolving sign outside.
