To get a great hotdog in Opelika you need to go where the locals go, Mrs.
Story's Dairy Bar. This local favorite opened in 1952. They only serve hotdogs and ice cream. Milkshakes, flurries and
banana splits are included in the ice cream category. The hotdogs are made of beef and pork. The dogs are boiled and the buns
are steamed. You have a choice of a regular dog or a foot-long one. The dogs come with mustard, ketchup and chili. They will
put onions on your dog, but only if you request them. They were out of onions the day I visited. I got a regular dog and another
one with mustard, ketchup, chili and slaw. Both of my dogs were very good. I also had a small, the only size they have for
the milkshakes, vanilla. My shake was also very good. Mrs. Story's Dairy Bar is third generation family owned and
operated.
