Before the golden arches set up shop in Alabama in 1966, the Birmingham area Milo's Hamburger restaurants (1946) were already an Alabama tradition. Today there are 20 Milo's restaurants in Alabama with most locations centered in and around Birmingham. What makes Milo's Hamburgers different from the rest of the pack? Well, Their burgers, smothered in Milo sauce, onions and pickles are a wonderful mess of flavor, the sweet tea is great! and although I am not a big fan of seasoned fries, their fries are super, they are hot, soft and gently seasoned and the thick milkshakes (vanilla) are superb. Oh, and they also have a grits bowl that you can top with meat, cheese and eggs. Enjoy!
