Before the interstates were built, Route 41 was the main artery from Chicago (Lakeshore Drive) to the Florida beaches for summer vacationers. A favorite stop along 41 for many of those Chicago vacationers was and still is Miner-Dunn Hamburgers. Their burgers are hand-crafted, cooked to order and are always fresh and never frozen. I had an excellent Major Dunn Burger with ketchup, mustard, chopped onions, relish, double meat, double cheese, a fried egg, bacon and topped off with home-made onion rings (everything @ Miner-Dunn is home-made). Top sellers include; cheeseburger #1, salad burger #2, vegetable soup, soft-serve sherbet, home-made onion rings, and home-made fresh-cut fries. This, their only location, dates to the 1940's.
They are open Sunday-Thursday 10:30am -10:00pm and Friday-Saturday from 10:30am-11:00pm and they are open on Labor Day! Enjoy!
