Traditionally, East Coast beaches have a great salt water taffy shop usually with stacks of rectangular boxes adorned with sailboats, shells, fish...etc. with a see through plastic section on the top with a nice assortment inside that everyone must bring back to their co-workers (Dolle's is the place to go in Rehoboth Beach for your taffy). Then, because no one wants to be bothered with cooking breakfast on vacation, there are always convenient donut shops and the Fractured Prune (founded in Ocean City, Maryland in 1976 -original location no longer exists) in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware continues the tradition. From dough to donut every donut is hot hand-dipped to order as you want. It's the only donut company in the U.S. that does it this way. You design your donut from the topping to the glaze. Their signature O.C. (Ocean City) sand donut is the best seller with Black Forest at number 2. I had one O.C. sand and one French Toast and they were both great. Enjoy!
