If you are in town to watch the Indianapolis Colts @ their training camp @ Anderson University, fuel up before you go @ Gene's Root Beer Drive-In, because nothing goes better with football than root-beer and hotdogs. Especially since Anderson University is a Christian school and you can't drink alcohol on the campus. Gene's is open seasonally from March 1st - the 1st of October. Gene's Root Beer Drive-In is the real thing complete with curb-service, carhops and window trays. Just blink your lights for service. Their root-beer is made on the premises. My root-beer came in a frosted, ice-cold, thick glass mug and it was superb! I also had two of the Spanish dogs topped with mustard, ketchup, onions, relish and the special Spanish sauce. Both dogs were truly outstanding!!! The beef and pork dogs are steamed cooked to perfection. The buns are also steamed. Gene's has been around since 1964 and they are still family owned. They also take VISA. Enjoy!
