Headed to Virginia's Eastern Shore for the Memorial Day Weekend we stopped in Petersburg's Old Town historic district for some lunch. On the corner of Bollingbrook & 5th with a sand and gravel (park anywhere) lot, you will see an orangeish ship cargo container. In business since September 27th 2010, this is Saucy's BBQ. Saucy's smokes their Boston Butts over oak and hickory. Saucy's is a take-out business, but they do have a few tables in front and a couple around back. They don't have restrooms but the nearby (follow the signs) visitor center does. Order @ the window and get your drinks (on ice) in the cooler by the window. I got their pulled pork sandwich topped with slaw. The excellent pulled pork, paired with their amazing slaw (white, green and purple cabbage with pineapples, green onions and cilantro with a vinegar-based sauce) made for one great sandwich. Enjoy!
