Another great family owned and operated local's place (since 1968), Wert's serves up some of the best burgers in Allentown and the Lehigh Valley. There was a short line when we were there but we were seated very quickly. I ordered the Wert's signature cheeseburger medium-well. I don't know if this is a Northern thing, but the cheese on the burger is Velveta (still good). Their burgers are cooked with the onions and mushrooms already mixed in with the meat and they are very good. You add the mustard and ketchup yourself and I skipped the lettuce and tomato toppers. The burger also comes with chips and two pickles. Since you are above the Mason-Dixon Line you won't find any sweet tea and they don't serve Coca-Cola, but it's still a great place. Enjoy Allentown!
