I was talking to a passing pedestrian who was walking his dog and I commented on how great it must be to have a Federal Donut right in his own neighborhood (Penn's Port neighborhood) within walking distance. He replied "yes, it is painfully convenient." Of the five Federal locations, this is the original. This Federal Donut's fancy donuts are chocolate glaze, 2x marshmallow, blackberry walnut, chocolate sea salt, salted tahini and blueberry mascarpone. Their hot donuts, which are fried fresh while you wait, are Indian cinnamon, Appollonia spice and vanilla lavender. Their most popular donuts are Indian cinnamon and chocolate sea salt. I had 2 Indian cinnamon and a 2x marshmallow with milk and all were excellent! We also got a dozen mixed assortment for the road and they were great as well. I'll try their chicken on my next trip to Philadelphia. Enjoy!
