On route 421, just as you pass Campbell University (if you are coming from the south), take a left across the bridge over the Cape Fear River and Howard's Barbecue will be on your right. Opened in 1978, Howard's cooks/grills it's pork shoulders with electricity. My slaw topped chopped Q sandwich with Howard's vinegar and spice house sauce was super. My sides of slaw & baked beans were excellent as well. Enjoy!
